I was so excited when my pattern, Lace Edged Baby Bibs, was accepted to be included in the new Storey Publishing book, One-Skein Wonders for Babies. It was a bit nerve-wracking as more and more designers on Ravelry were getting acceptance emails, and others getting samples back that hadn't been chosen, but I hadn't heard a thing. Finally about a week after most people had heard, I received my acceptance email! Working with Storey Publishing was a great experience, and I'm pleased with the final result.
The bibs I designed would make great last minute gifts, as they knit up quickly and use little yarn. One skein of Knit Picks Comfy will make two bibs. Both lace patterns are very easy, and dress up the stockinette body nicely. They are finished off with I-cord ties. My pattern can be found of page 193.
The book itself is full of fun, cute, classic designs for babies. There's something for everyone here! You can find tops, bottoms, ensembles, dresses, hats, socks, booties, accessories, blankets, and toys. Just doing a quick flip through, I see a lot things I would definitely knit. If you have little ones, or just like to knit for babies, this book as a lot to offer. Though, I admit, I may be a bit biased!
Why DistractedKnits? Well, I wanted my name to reflect my designing philosophy. When I knit, and design, I prefer patterns that are interesting to knit, but can be easily memorized. I also need patterns that can be put down at a moment’s notice, and when picked back up, it only takes a moment to find my place.
